You can set up a lockdown to your Byte Stores remotely at any time. When a lockdown is turned on, the physical machine will display a message on the tablet screen and not allow customers to unlock the machine with a credit card swipe.
Note: Your Byte Store must be online with a recent Heartbeat for a Lockdown to apply to the store.
To place a store on lockdown:
- Select Stores Tab
- Select the Store you wish to place on Lockdown
- Select Send Command to Store in the top right
- Select the LockDown Button
Check the Status tab by going to Stores > Select Store > Status.
You should see the most recent Heartbeat showing "Locked" under the "Locked Down" column.

To end a Lock-down:
- Select Stores Tab
- Select the Store you wish to remove the Lockdown on
- Select Send Command to Store in the top right
- Select the Remove LockDown Button

Removing lockdown at the physical store is possible by logging into the restocker screen and clicking the "Remove lock-down" button (see below). You will no longer need to do a power reboot to the store after clicking the button. Once selected and restocked as usual - click exit in the top right. The store will be removed from lock-down, show the menu screen, and be ready to transact.
NOTE: If you are still seeing the lockdown message appears on the screen, proceed with a reboot either by selecting the reboot button OR a manual reboot at the physical store level.
